2023 Jeep Cherokee Redesign, Specs, and Features. These days, there is a lot of talk about the next-generation Grand Cherokee and the comeback of Grand Wagoneer and that’s not a surprise, since we are talking about two of the famous Jeep nameplates of the brands. As a result, some models seem overshadowed. The Cherokee is one of them, but for a reason, considering that the 2023 Jeep Cherokee will come without any significant change.

You may count on familiar design characteristics. The current generation has been around for a while and it profiled itself as a vehicle that’s more about off-roading than being a family SUV. We like its excellent off-road capabilities, as well as the fact that this is one of the rare compact crossovers that have a V6 engine in offer. We like the intuitive infotainment system but that doesn’t mean this crossover isn’t without flaws. Some of the key drawbacks are unrefined on-road ride, below-average cargo area, uninspiring interior design etc.

The 2023 Jeep Cherokee should arrive sometime in the second half of the year.

2023 Jeep Cherokee Engines

The 2023 Jeep Cherokee will continue with three engine options in the offer. Base models will continue to use an uninspiring 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which is good for about 180 horsepower. There are two similarly-powered options in the offer if you need something peppier. The first one is a 3.3-liter V6, while the other one is a 2.0-liter turbo-four. Both engines are good for about 270 horsepower. The turbo-four has more torque and it is more efficient. On the other side, the V6 sounds better. Choosing between these two is actually choosing between the emotional or rational side of your personality.

All engines come in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which does a pretty decent job.

2023 Jeep Cherokee Design

The current-generation Cherokee is a rare bird these days. Although essentially a crossover, it is much different compared to most rivals in the class. Instead of being a small family hauler, this model is rather an off-road performer. All models come with four-wheel drive, as well as selectable traction mode. Additionally, you can get some pretty serious upgrades, in terms of locking differentials, low gearing, hill descent control and many other things.

In terms of the styling, the initial version wasn’t considered particularly appealing. Traditional Jeep lovers didn’t like the model’s sleek face and narrow headlights and fortunately, the 2019 facelift has brought a more conventional front end. Therefore, we expect that will carry on in the same way, though there is always a chance to see smaller updates, like new color options.

Interior

Once again, there are no bigger changes to come. The 2023 Jeep Cherokee will carry on with a familiar cabin design, which is a kind of a mixed back. Those who don’t care too much about aesthetics won’t mind the lack of fine materials, as the ergonomics and overall functionality are actually pretty good. We particularly like the intuitive infotainment system.

In terms of size, the first row seems quite good. The driving position is more than decent, while visibility is good in all directions. The rear seat passenger space could be better, but Cherokee is far from the below-average from the class. On the other side, we can’t say that for the cargo area, which offers just 26 cubic feet behind the second row and less than 55 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. Those are below-average ratings for the segment.

Features

The 2022 model year came with lots of additions in terms of available and standard safety features, so we believe that there aren’t many novelties left for the 2023 Jeep Cherokee. Most likely, we will see just a few additions, while most of the things are about to remain the same. All models should come standard with tech goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a six-speaker stereo. The list of options should include an 8.4-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hot spot, navigation, satellite radio, HD Radio, an additional front USB port, two rear USB ports, keyless entry, remote start, dual-zone climate control, 7-inch digital instrument cluster screen etc.

When it comes to safety, all models will come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a rearview camera. Additionally, there are things like automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, and front and rear parking sensors.

2023 Jeep Cherokee Release Date and Price

The redesign of this compact crossover won’t happen so soon and the 2023 Jeep Cherokee is definitely coming without more important changes. Therefore, we don’t expect to see it before the last quarter of 2023. The price should remain pretty much the same, which means that base models should go around 27.000 dollars.
