2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer: Redesign, Price, and Specs. The next year will bring a lot of important novelties in Jeep’s lineup. Besides the highly-anticipated next-generation Grand Cherokee, a famous nameplate is also coming back. Of course, we are talking about the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer redesign, or comeback, as you wish. The legendary model is coming back after decades and Jeep will offer a design that will be competitive in both premium and mainstream segments. Of course, the primary competition will be models like Ford Expedition and Chevy Suburban, but we expect that higher trim levels of the upcoming SUV will be able to compete with premium models like Infiniti QX80, Cadillac Escalade etc.
At this point, the new model is still in the testing phase. We’ve already seen a concept version and it looks like the production version will take a lot of parts from it. This will be a genuine BoF SUV, with solid off-road performances as well. We expect to see it in the second half of 2021, while the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer price should be higher compared to rivals from Ford and Chevrolet.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Engine
The engine lineup should be pretty much the same as the Ram 1500’s, but with some additions. Therefore, base models will probably come with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 which puts out 305 horsepower. We won’t exclude the possibility to see a turbo-four version either. Still, the most suitable engine for this SUV will probably be a well-known 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, which is good for about 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Both V6 and V8 engines should be available with an eTorque mild-hybrid system.
Also, we could easily see a plug-in hybrid version in the offer. That should be the same system that recently debuted in Jeep Wrangler, which is based on a turbo-four engine and puts out around 375 horsepower. More details will come soon.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Design
Of course, base design characteristics are those that come to mind. As we’ve just mentioned, this will be a genuine SUV, which rides on a body-on-frame platform. As you may presume, this means it will share a lot of parts with the current-generation Ram 1500. Of course, we will see some notable mechanical differences as well and that particularly refers to the suspension setup. We expect to see rear suspension as a standard feature, as this is a pretty typical thing for both expedition and the segment and Suburban have it
We presume that the new SUV will feature typical dimensions for the segment when it comes to the size. This means that the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer wheelbase will probably go around 130 inches, while the smaller version is about to come as Wagoneer.
There is no doubt that the new model will take a lot of inspiration from the concept version when it comes to aesthetics. This particularly refers to the overall shape and general design. We are pretty sure that many of the details from the concept won’t find their place in the production model.
According to Edmunds, one of the things we definitely won’t see in the serial model is the dot LED design on the grille. The seven-slat layout will certainly come, but probably without lighting. Speaking of the lighting, we don’t expect to see those teak accents that surround headlights.
The rest of the concept features rather conventional design solutions, so we are pretty sure that most of them will appear on the production model as well. Of course, there is always enough room for some new details we haven’t seen in the concept, but it’s still early to talk about them.
The same source suggests that not all the interior details from the concept will be offered in the production version. This particularly refers to that impressive number of touchscreens. In the concept, we saw six of them, including the one on the passenger’s size. That one probably won’t appear in the production model. On the other side, the driver’s area will probably remain the same or similar in this aspect. This means a large digital instrument cluster and a dual-screen setup on the center stack. The upper one will be reserved for navigation and infotainment, while the lower one will be reserved for climate controls.
We count on three spacious rows of seats when it comes to an interior room. All three should offer around 40 inches of legroom, while the cargo area should be pretty generous too. We estimate more than 120 cubic feet behind the first row.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will be scheduled for the second half of 2021. The price will probably be higher compared to key competitors. We presume that base models will go around 60.000 dollars.
