Nissan Murano 2024: Redesign, Hybrid. The Nissan Murano 2024 will go through a facelift for the new season. The two-row mid-size SUV is an alternative if you don’t need a vehicle as big as Pathfinder, but the Rogue doesn’t meet your standards. The sales of the current generation are good and the Japanese company doesn’t plan to replace or drop Murano from the lineup, although both bigger and smaller siblings are more popular.

The facelift of the Nissan Murano 2024 is bringing serious changes. We can compare it to the new Terra SUV, released for the Chinese market. However, the manufacturer is going strong to the new season after taking a break for the current year. In 2024 we will see a lot of redesigns and changes, cosmetic and mechanical. Murano is not updated since its arrival in 2015, but Nissan won’t start the new generation yet.

The major question is– will the Nissan Murano 2024 get the hybrid engine? Well, the SUV offers only one drivetrain, and it is a petrol V6. Any alternative will boost chances on the market. Still, if you are looking for more options, the vehicle offers several trim levels. Platinum model gets into premium waters with luxury equipment.

The facelift is Ready, No Spy Photos

Interestingly, the new Nissan Murano 2024 is not being tested. The SUV will present numerous changes, but there are no prototypes to give us any hints about it. Well, we can assume the new Murano is going to pick up some ideas from the recent Ariya concept, although it is the architecture for electric crossovers. This SUV could become one of them, at least hybrid.

A more aggressive nose and overhaul inside the cabin are certain. Nissan is developing the next-gen infotainment system. The biggest attention is caused by an autonomous drive. The Japanese carmaker announced Level 4. But, this one is not coming for the 2024 Murano. Still, the ProPilot already has some of the most advanced features in the industry.

The new model could become larger, providing extra space for passengers and cargo. Currently, Murano provides 32 cubic feet behind the second row and up to 67 cu.ft. with the rear seats folded. Even with the larger wheelbase, the SUV is not becoming a three-row model. The upcoming version is not going to be longer than 195 inches.

Nissan Murano 2024 Specs

The main source of power for the Nissan Murano 2024 remains the same. A V6 is a reliable partner for this SUV and it produces 260 hp and 240 lb-ft. For other vehicles, the same unit can offer more power. In Murano, this is good for 1,500 pounds of towing capacity. The mediocre output is not going to draw the attention of buyers with Honda Passport managing to pull 5,000 lbs. On the other hand, Pathfinder is better in this segment than the most rivals with 6,000 pounds delivered from the same drivetrain.

On the other hand, the smaller SUV will be able to return better mileage. Less power, more miles. Currently, the rating is 20/28 mpg for the front-wheel drive. After the facelift, with lighter materials in its body and weight drop, the new Nissan Murano 2024 could reach 30 mpg on the highway. All-wheel drive is an optional mode and it consumes an equal amount of gasoline. The CVT will be there to distribute power to wheels.

Nissan Murano 2024 Hybrid

Rogue hybrid is getting updates to catch up with Honda CR-V and match its 40 mpg. Pathfinder also needs a similar upgrade to challenge Toyota Highlander. The Nissan Murano 2024 might be the perfect model to install the new technology.

This class doesn’t require too much power. But, the extra mileage and space would be appreciated by buyers. Toyota sacrificed outputs to achieve better mileage on the Highlander. If Nissan wants to stay in the game, it will have to offer at least 30 mpg combined, even if it means less energy and torque.

Accessories

There are four different versions of the Murano for a while. The offer starts with the S package, and the SUV is also available with SL, SV, and Platinum trims. The new vehicle could go with Limited or Platinum Reserve.

Still, the entry-level options will be 18-inch wheels, an 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and automatic brakes. By choosing higher trim levels, safety is getting a boost with Shield 360 system, parking sensors, or NissanConnect services. Of course, top-tier trims will come with leather upholstery. Also, the infotainment systems are becoming more advanced, with premium audio and navigation.
