2021 Dodge Cuda Comeback: Rumors, Release Date, and Expect. FCA did the best job of all with the current generation Challenger when it comes to muscle cars. The current generation of the legendary pony car has been around for a full decade and it still continues to impress with its impressive aesthetics. It’s no wonder that we’ve been hearing reports about some other comebacks. One of them would be the 2023 Dodge Cuda, which would be another impressive resurrection, something that drivers mind of every car enthusiasts.

As you probably know, the legendary Cuda was in production in the 60s and 70s and it was a model under Plymouth’s badge. Considering that this brand doesn’t exist anymore, it seems natural to see it under Dodge’s name, as this is the first name in FCA Group that comes to mind when someone mentions a muscle car. We are waiting for the 2023 Dodge Barracuda.

2023 Dodge Cuda Engines

Of course, this would be one of the most interesting aspects of the rumored pony. Simply, the 2023 Dodge Cuda specs would be various, as we would probably see a wide range of engine options, just it’s the case with the current Challenger. Most likely, a well-known 3.6-liter V6 would be reserved for base versions, though a new turbo-four also seems like a possible solution. In both cases, we would expect a power increase compared to the current versions of engines.

Naturally, V8 units would take the spotlights. The offer of eight cylinders would start with a smaller 5.7-liter engine, while the bigger 6.4-liter unit would be in the offer. Finally, we wouldn’t exclude the possibility to see a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat in the offer as well.

FCA is also working on a new turbo inline-six, so that’s another engine that could be offered in the 2023 Dodge Cuda. Allegedly, the most powerful variant of this engine will be good for about 525 horsepower.

How would 2023 Dodge Cuda look like?

Of course, this is the first thing that comes to mind about the Dodge Cuda 2023. If you look at the current offer on the market, some muscle cars feature modern designs, while the others stick to classic design solutions. We have no doubt that the new Cuda would belong to the second group, just like it’s the case with Challenger. Simply, retro styling is something that naturally goes with these models, which were in the peak of their glory 50 years ago.

So, count on a retro-looking Barracuda, which will take a lot of inspiration from the legendary Plymouth models. This refers to all aspects, including the body style. So, we see a convertible version as a probable option as well.

Platform and Dimensions

So far, we’ve been getting a lot of reports that suggest a close relation with CHallneger, which makes perfect sense. However, if we consider the Challenger’s age, it looks more likely that the new 2023 Dodge Cuda will ride on something much more up to date, something that would underprint future Challenger as well.

So, a good-old LC platform definitely doesn’t seem like a probable solution. Instead, we see this model riding on Alfa Romeo’s Giorgio platform, which would provide far more athleticism and significantly better driving experience.

Another thing that comes to mind is size. Most likely, the new 2023 Dodge Cuda will be slightly smaller than its corporal sibling. If you look at the current Challenger, it measures 116 inches in wheelbase. On the other side, we presume that the new Barracuda would rather feature size similar to its predecessors, which would mean somewhere between 105 and 110 inches between the axles. Such size would make it lighter and sportier, and we generally think that these things will be some of the focus points of the new model.

Interior

As we are talking about a model that is nothing more than a rumor, it’s obvious that the interior design is a complete mystery. Still, if we presume that FCA will tend to make a genuine muscle car, which is approachable to wide masses, it seems natural to expect not so exclusive layout. The new cabin would be rather practical and functional than luxurious. After all, that’s the case with all modern muscle cars. Still, that doesn’t mean you would lack any modern feature, including all those advanced tech goodies.

In terms of the base layout, we count on a typical 2 +2 seating configuration. The new model would probably be offered in two variants, both as a coupe and crossover.

When Could 2023 Dodge Cuda Arrive?

The 2023 Dodge Cuda is just a rumor at the moment, some insiders suggest we might see it in the near future, maybe already in the next year. We presume that base versions would go around 30.000 dollars. Of course, key competitors would be models like Mustang and Camaro.
