ENGINE

It’s no secret that Japanese manufacturer is prepared a new-generation SkyActive X engine, which will be the first compression ignition gasoline engine in a production car. Exact numbers are yet to come, the company claims 30% better fuel economy and 30% more power than before.
The current 2.5-liter engine will carry on. It delivers around 185 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque and comes paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Outside the U.S. this model is also available with a small 2.0-liter engine, which is good for about 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. European drivers can choose a diesel engine. It is a familiar 2.2-liter unit which delivers around 175 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
EXTERIOR
This is definitely one of the strongest points of this attractive crossover. Compared to other mainstream carmakers, Mazda doesn’t insist of too sharp lines. Its models look very upscale, full of elegant lines, with plenty of smooth surfaces.
The 2024 Mazda CX-5 will come with the newest version of the famous KODO styling philosophy and it will definitely be one of the most attractive compact crossovers around. Excellent styling, it also offers amazing driving characteristics. Compared to models like Toyota RAV4, this one is a real athlete. It offers superior handling, driving dynamics, and overall driving experience, like no other model in the class.
INTERIOR
The cabin definitely follows the beautiful exterior styling. Inside this crossover, you can see plenty of elegant lines and hi-quality materials. This model puts focus on driving experience, it is also a quite practical crossover. It probably can’t compare with super-practical and family-oriented Honda CR-V, but definitely offers a decent level of practicality, in terms of interior space and cargo volume. On the other side, it offers plenty of standard equipment already in base models. While Honda’s touchscreen interface is available only in higher CR-V trim levels, Mazda offers it across the whole range. All in all, if you prefer pleasure over practicality, 2024 Mazda CX-5 will definitely be a better choice.
