2023 Chrysler Town and Country Redesign and What to Expect

2023 Chrysler Town and Country Redesign and What to Expect. According to some sources, we might see the famous nameplate in use once again. Town and Country is one of the oldest nameplates in FCA’s portfolio. The original model came way back in 1940 and for most of its existence, it was a station wagon. When this model became a minivan, things changed in the late ’80s. It remained a family car, but with a completely new layout.

In such a design, Chrysler Town and Country remained until 2016. The last generation was in production between 2008 and 2016 and it was replaced with the current-generation Pacifica, which is also a minivan. These days, we can hear rumors about a possible comeback, at least in some form and in some markets. These unofficial reports suggest two possible scenarios, where the new 2023 Chrysler Town and Country could either come once again as a minivan, or as an SUV, which also makes sense, given the popularity of this segment.

2023 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan

Some sources suggest that the Chrysler Town and Country will stick to its nature and that it will come as a minivan. However, the problem with such a scenario is that Chrysler already has such a vehicle in the offer, called Pacifica. Building another one doesn’t make much sense, especially if we consider that Pacifica’s sales numbers aren’t spectacular.

One of the possibilities is to see 2023 Chrysler Town and Country nameplate in certain markets. Chrysler has recently introduced a model called Voyager, which is a more affordable version of Pacifica that comes with more basic specs, particularly in terms of standard equipment. Some believe that the Town and County nameplate could be used in Canada There is also a big chance that this version will be called Grand Caravan in Canada, as the popular Dodge minivan is finally ending its production this year.

2023 Chrysler Town and Country SUV

In our humble opinion, this scenario sounds far more likely. While the minivan lineup is already full, there is plenty of room for crossovers with Chrysler’s badge. In order to boost sales, the company could easily rely on a familiar nameplate. One of the things that come to mind is that the new Chrysler Town and Country will come back to its roots and come as a station wagon. Of course, the new model will feature high ground clearance and practically be a crossover, similar to the legendary Subaru Outback.

On the other side, there is also a chance to see it with a classic SUV design. In that case, the Chrysler Town and Country would be a compact or mid-size crossover. We presume it would ride on Alfa Romeo’s Giorgio platform and that it would share most of its parts with the upcoming next-generation Grand Cherokee.

It is still early for details, but we presume that the new model would rely on internal-combustion engines. Base models would probably be equipped with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, while we also count on the new inline-six, which is expected to debut in the near future. Eventually, the new model would come with the electrified drivetrain, with hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric setups.

2023 Chrysler Town and Country Release Date

At this point, it’s hard to say when to expect the 2023 Chrysler Town and Country. This comeback is just a rumor at the moment, which should be taken with a big reserve. Bringing back old nameplates is quite popular these days, but the company is still quiet on this matter. We expect to get some information in the near future, so stay tuned.
